Working on the Recall
Posted by Colin Hensley on March 12, 2010 in Safety
Like every year, we were in Geneva last week for the annual motor show, however, the circumstances this year were quite different to previous years.
The majority of the questions that we received from the media related to the recalls, asking about the circumstances, the status and the next steps. Of course this was to be expected, we have had an extraordinary few months.
I will continue to apologise to all of our customers, to the Toyota owners who have been inconvenienced and concerned by the recalls that we have announced over the last few weeks here in Europe. We are now putting in place additional measures to minimise the chance that this could happen again, and you will hear more about these in the near future. With regard to the specifics of the recalls themselves, it’s possible to find all of the details of the recalls on our mini-site.
As it says in the Toyota Way 2001, “We view errors as opportunities for learning…” and we know that we learn through adversity. So this will give us the strength of intention to continue to do what we do, and ensure we do it even better in the future.
